Richard Holliday is Director, Industrial Sector at World Gold Council and Editor of Gold Bulletin. He leads all their promotional activities related to gold as an industrial metal. Richard believes that in the coming years, a whole host of new industrial and medical uses for gold will emerge from world’s research laboratories, based on gold’s unique technical properties
Great session focused on commercialisation of gold catalysts – Jason McPherson from Mintek and Pankaj Dhingra from Nanostellar – good to see things are moving from the lab to the market
A very interesting meeting but was struck again by presenations and during informal discussions that Moessbauer spectroscopy remains a very under-utilised method for studying gold catalysts. Of course this is no doubt in part due to the very few facilities now available worldwide. At the University of the Witwatersrand here in Johannesburg we have a facility that can run Moessbauer for gold samples down to 4K. We would be happy to receive enquiries from potential users.
Thanks Mike. I hope catalysis readers of the blog take you up on the offer! Richard
