Largest gold sputtering target
I was reading the most recent Technology Report from German technology company Heraeus and one article, in particular, caught my eye……the company has announced it has recently produced its largest ever gold sputtering target for use in a special display application. Consisting of 120Kg of 4N gold (99.99% Au) and measuring a whopping 1 square metre, the target is worth well over €2 million.
It wouldn’t take many of these to be sold to make a meaningful contribution to increased annual industrial gold demand!
